About MicroMadi
In 2025, I discovered a group of microscopists and microbiology enthusiasts online. Finding this community of microscopists reignited my child-like curiosity about the natural world that we seem to slowly lose as we get older. It didn't take long before I had to see for myself and bought my own microscope.
As someone who considers themselves a naturalist, it's been an incredible way to learn about and track local ecosystems on a deeper level. I've been particularly charmed by the microscopic animal known as a Tardigrade, and I'm trying to learn all of the different species that can be found in my region. I post about the tardigrades I find on Tiktok and Instagram
Outside of microscopy, I work as an Invasive Plant Control Technician, and working towards a Technologist role. This includes monitoring the pathways of spread for high priority invasive plants, collecting and analyzing data, and assisting in large-scale integrated pest management planning and implementation.
I have a strong understanding of plant biology and taxonomy. Ecology and conservation have always been extremely important to me, I believe it is everyone's job to tend to the earth.
